What is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive Eating is a self-care framework and anti-diet approach to eating and exercise. It includes 10 principles to help build self-trust and make peace with food. It is backed by over 125 published research studies of its benefits.

The Intuitive Eating framework may be beneficial for those experiencing:

  • Guilt around eating choices

  • Eating that feels rigid and/or out of control

  • A history of dieting or weight cycling

  • Body comparing, checking, and dissatisfaction

  • Compulsive exercise

As a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I help clients process emotions that arise around eating and exercise as they work through these 10 principles. I focus on increasing self-compassion and coping skills as parts of the healing process.
